Tom Davey, Market President, Centrue Bank, Fairview Heights

“Treat people the way you want to be treated.” This has been the guiding mantra each day of Tom Davey’s 30-year career in banking as well as in his everyday life, and it continues to serve him well. As market president for Centrue Bank’s southern region, Davey provides oversight for the Fairview Heights, Aviston, and St. Rose branches, spending most of his time on the commercial side of things, including loans, deposits, treasury and cash management.
His colleague, Becky Klostermann, handles the retail side. Together, along with their team, they carry forward Centrue Bank’s mission to provide customers with financial peace of mind.
“The opportunities within Centrue Bank are tremendous,” said Davey. “We have a very active and involved CEO. And my family is very happy to be here,” he added.
Growing up in Massachusetts, the Midwest has been his home for many years now. He resides in Swansea with his wife Ann and sons, Connor, 20, and Andrew, 14. Andrew is a freshman at Althoff Catholic High School in Belleville.
With online, mobile and telephone banking capabilities, Centrue offers its customers a full array of products and services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They have 23 banking locations throughout Illinois and St. Louis, an ATM network and a solid set of online banking products and services including the options to fully open and fund accounts or apply for a loan online.
What sets them apart from the others, according to Davey, is that they offer a unique individuality to the services they provide through one-on-one contact between their customers and a personal banker. They also offer an advantage to customers in that credit decisions are made locally, providing for quicker decisions and access as well as for a truly personal touch throughout the process.
With its recapitalization back in the spring, Centrue Bank has positioned itself with more financial strength and market growth potential. This recapitalization, which included the issuance of 190 million shares of common stock that sold for $76 million, has facilitated the bank’s expanded search for potential loan opportunities and customers.
In addition to enjoying spending time with his family when he is not at the bank, Davey also serves as a board member for Habitat for Humanity Illinois and is active in Belleville’s Blessed Sacrament Church.
Centrue Bank is also active in the Greater Belleville and O’Fallon-Shiloh Chambers of Commerce.
