Sherry Wimmer, President/Creative Director, Design 5 LLC, Lebanon

    Coming from a family of educators, Sherry Wimmer seemed destined to have a lifelong career in teaching as well. She completed a bachelor and master of science in art and education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and it seemed as though her path was set.
    As an undergraduate however, Wimmer was given an opportunity to work in retail. Her arts education and creative talents adapted well to the environment, she enjoyed what she was doing, and advanced quickly. However, struggling to maintain a work-life balance, Wimmer eventually returned to teaching. She also returned to college, completing her graduate degree. As the tides turned in K-8 public school arts programming though, her days as an elementary art teacher soon ended.
    Wimmer completed advanced studies in electronic publishing through University of Missouri-St. Louis as well. While staying in arts education as an adjunct associate professor at Southwestern Illinois College, Wimmer still had a need for more personal fulfillment. She decided to combine her artistic talents with business, opening a graphic design studio.
    Design 5 LLC is today a fast-rising, all-women design company with technological savvy providing graphic design, web and social media marketing and advertising products to small and large businesses throughout St. Louis and the Metro East.
