Stillwater Senior Living Community caps successful year for Korte Company
The Korte Company capped a successful 2014 with the completion and opening of Stillwater Senior Living Community in Edwardsville in December. The 45,190-square-foot facility offers 46 apartments and suites.
In July, Korte completed Southern Illinois Healthcare Medical Group’s new Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Center in Carbondale. The Korte Company designed and built it in just eight months.
The 5,528-square-foot facility provides a multitude of services, including reconstructive procedures and comprehensive line of non-surgical treatment options including laser treatments, chemical peels and Botox injections.
The facility also offers a number of surgical procedures, including reconstructive hand surgery, and specializes in burns, microsurgery, pediatrics, trauma, cosmetics, breast augmentation, wounds and weight loss. The center includes three exam rooms, procedure and treatment rooms, a waiting room with retail space, and a private discharge waiting area.
This year the Korte Company continued its longstanding relationship with Anderson Hospital with the construction of two Cardiac Catheterization Labs. The project includes the Cardiac Catheterization Suites, along with Stage 1 recovery and support spaces. In addition, the project completes an occupancy upgrade for the remainder of the existing POB 1 facility.
Korte broke ground on a hospital addition at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia. The team spent months working closely with the hospital to design the 11,655-square-foot addition. The project includes a public entrance and canopy, along with admitting and lab spaces.
The Korte Team is working on a new 55,000-square-foot hospital addition to Moore County Hospital District in Dumas, Texas. After a failed bond referendum for a new hospital, the Korte team was able to step in and offer the hospital a solution which maximized value and lowered first cost. Design and financing are currently underway and construction is anticipated to start late 2015.
Korte began work on three separate projects at Naval Station Whidbey, Washington, including a $36.1 million contract for a P-8A Aircraft Training Facility, designed to house 19 flight simulators. Another project, estimated at $48 million, includes the design and construction of two hangar facility extensions, and a third contract is a 74,000-square-foot construction and modernization project to accommodate the EA-18G aircraft.
Korte also teamed up with MACNAK Construction for a Corps of Engineers’ project to design and build a 43,000-square-foot facility at Beale Air Force Base.
The Macnak/Korte Team LLC has also begun a three-story, 144-person dormitory on Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico.
And, MACNAK Korte Team LLC was also awarded a $7.1 million contract for the Air Support Operations Center at Fort. Campbell, Ky. The 22,458-square-foot expansion will serve the Air Support Operations Squadron at Fort Campbell.
