Holland Construction Services boosts sales to highest volume

Holland Construction Services reported its highest volume of sales in 2014, exceeding $90 million. Much of this success is due to the large number of health-care construction projects in the region; most notably Memorial Hospital-East in Shiloh.
“Holland Construction has developed a strong working relationship with Memorial Group, Inc.,” says Project Executive Dave Birk. “We have partnered with them on multiple projects over the past several years — some that have been completed and some that are still in planning.”
In January 2014, the company completed the $6 million renovation to Memorial Care Center, a facility located on Memorial Hospital’s Belleville campus that offers nursing and rehabilitative services. Interior renovations included entirely new finishes, HVAC systems, electrical upgrades, and a new roof.
In August 2014, renovations were completed to the existing 2,500-square-foot Memorial Hospital C-section Suite. Holland Construction gutted the suite and constructed an entirely new space.
Memorial Hospital-East, the planned 94-bed facility, is currently being constructed as a joint venture by Holland Construction and Pepper Construction Group and is expected to be complete in December 2015. Plans for this acute-care hospital include 72 beds in private patient rooms, a 16-bed obstetric unit, a six-bed intensive care unit, and cardiac catheterization and gastrointestinal labs.
The project is proceeding on schedule, according to Birk. The site utilities are complete and the structural steel and concrete structure is in place. The crew is enclosing the building with framing, sheathing, masonry, stone and glass. On the interior, they are working on metal stud wall framing and mechanical and electrical rough-ins on all floors.
Holland Construction will begin working on the Memorial Hospital Bio Med (Clinical Engineering) space in Belleville in early 2015. This is a three phase project starting with Bio Med (Clinical Engineering) moving to an existing storage and pharmacy space. Then the existing clinical engineering room will be remodeled into a new pharmacy admin space. The final phase will change the current pharmacy offices into storage.
Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville hired Holland Construction to build an addition to its behavioral health unit. Construction on this $8 million, 14,300-square-foot addition expands behavioral health services and adds 13 semi-private rooms, offices, waiting rooms, break rooms and a lobby. Renovations include modernizing 8,750 square feet of the existing hospital. Work on this project will be completed in December 2015.
“2015 promises to be another record-breaking year for Holland Construction company based on the amount of projects that we have in our backlog,” says Birk.
