Public engagement for EWG Transportation Improvement Program set for July
Each year, East-West Gateway releases the draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for public review and comment. The current FY 2026-2029 TIP includes approximately $5.5 billion federally funded transportation projects scheduled throughout the region over the next four years.
These projects include roadway improvements, bridge repairs, transit enhancements, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, and other transportation-related investments designed to improve safety, mobility, and connectivity across the region. EWG updates the TIP annually.
The TIP serves as the short-range implementation document for the St. Louis region’s long-range transportation plan (LRTP). The LRTP synthesizes input from residents and stakeholders across the region to help shape a set of guiding principles that reflect regional priorities and values. These principles guide the transportation investment decisions outlined in TIP.
Public comment on the draft FY 2027–2030 TIP will begin in July.
At the same time, EWG will also accept public review and comment on the draft Air Quality Conformity Determination Document (AQCD), which ensures planned transportation projects align with federal air quality standards. Community feedback is an important part of the planning process, and residents, stakeholders, and local officials are encouraged to participate.
This year, EWG has launched an interactive eTIP platform to improve public access to transportation project information throughout the region. The updated eTIP database includes information related to the LRTP, TIP, and Calls for Projects (CFP), and features an interactive map, funding source information, detailed project descriptions, amendment histories, customizable filters, and downloadable project lists for easier analysis and review.
Comments on both the TIP and AQCD may be submitted by mail, email, phone, or in person during a series of public meetings hosted across the region.
