St. Clair County hosting donation drive supporting deployed Scott AFB airmen

St. Clair County is inviting area residents to come together in support of deployed airmen by participating in a special donation drive on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

The effort aims to collect comfort items and care package essentials to boost morale for service members stationed overseas.

Organized in partnership with local military supporters, the initiative will help ensure deployed airmen from Scott Air Force Base receive tangible reminders of appreciation from the community back home. Free hot dogs and chips will also be available while supplies last.

  • Location: St. Clair County Courthouse (Circle Drive), 10 Public Square, Belleville, IL 62220
  • Date and time: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2026

Requested items include:

  • Gift cards
  • Handwritten letters and encouraging drawings
  • Energy drink powder packets
  • Energy gum
  • Small puzzle books, crosswords and Sudoku books
  • Trail mix (individual packages)
  • Pop-Tarts
  • Sanitary napkins or tampons
  • Baby wipes
  • Ponytail holders (rubber bands)
  • Athletic socks (various sizes)
  • Shoe inserts (various sizes)

“This donation drive is a simple but meaningful way for our community to show deployed airmen that their service and sacrifice are appreciated and not forgotten,” said St. Clair County Director of Military Affairs Kimberly Huth, event organizer. “Every donation makes a difference.”
