St. Louis Battlehawks, United Way of Greater St. Louis partner for community impact
United Way of Greater St. Louis is teaming up once again with the St. Louis Battlehawks for a third year as the team’s Premier Community Partner.
United Way provides vital funding and resources to 160 local nonprofits agencies across 16-counties in Missouri and Illinois, helping over 1 million people every year. The continued partnership reinforces a shared commitment to community engagement, volunteerism, and strengthening the St. Louis region.
2026 UFL season partnership highlights:
- Volunteerism – The UFL will utilize United Way’s Volunteer Center for St. Louis Battlehawks community relations and player volunteerism.
- United Way of Greater St. Louis Hero of the Game – At each home game, the St. Louis Battlehawks will highlight an individual who exemplifies outstanding community service, giving back to St. Louis, and Leadership. Each recipient is honored on the field during the game and receives a game ball signed by Coach Ricky Proehl.
- Fundraising alignment – United Way to use unique link to sell regular season and postseason tickets to Battlehawks games with a giveback, wherein a portion of proceeds will benefit United Way.
- Travis Feeney partnership – St. Louis Battlehawks defensive end Travis Feeney, the 2025 UFL Sportsman of the Year, is a proven leader with a strong commitment to the community and a passion for St. Louis. Feeney is partnering with United Way to help build a stronger, more resilient region by dedicating his time, talent and resources to support their work across the community.
“The Battlehawks organization is committed to being a part of the fabric of the St. Louis region, and that means taking the extra step to make a positive impact in our community through acts of service,” said Ricky Proehl, head coach of the St. Louis Battlehawks. “This continued partnership with United Way of Greater St. Louis helps in our efforts to be a game changer for our community off the field, and we look forward to see how our collaboration can continue to grow, expand and make a difference.”
Through this partnership, United Way and the Battlehawks are creating new opportunities to engage fans, players, and the broader community in meaningful ways. By uniting through the power of sports, this collaboration expands volunteerism opportunities, strengthens local nonprofits, and helps drive positive change.
“The St. Louis Battlehawks are aligned with our vision of building a stronger, more vibrant region for our neighbors,” said Michelle D. Tucker, president and CEO of United Way of Greater St. Louis. “Working together, this continued partnership creates meaningful opportunities to deepen our collective impact in the community.”
