Upcoming Madison County regional lane closures announced by IDOT

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that intermittent daytime lane closures will take place on Illinois 159 from Center Grove Road to Governors Parkway in Edwardsville, weather permitting, on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The lane closures are necessary for the evaluation of pavement conditions.

Further, in Collinsville, IDOT has announced that pavement repairs on Illinois 159 between Kinloch Avenue and Clay Street will require intermittent lane closures also beginning, weather permitting, Tuesday, Sept. 30. One lane will be open in each direction. All lanes will be open daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. This work is expected to be completed by mid-November.

IDOT has also announced that pavement evaluations on Illinois 255 in Madison County will take place Wednesday, Oct. 1, through Friday, Oct. 3, weather permitting. The work will require intermittent daytime lane closures at the following locations on Illinois 255:

From Illinois 143 to Illinois 140
From Illinois 140 to Fosterburg Road
From west of Fosterburg Road to west of Seminary Road

Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all signage and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
