Melissa Woodbury joins Chestnut as new CFO

On Aug. 18, 2025, Melissa Woodbury  joined Chestnut Health Systems™ as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Woodbury succeeds  Karen Rettick, who will retire in 2026 after nearly 30 years of service to the organization.

Woodbury brings more than two decades of financial leadership experience across agricultural, manufacturing, and insurance sectors. She most recently served as director of Business Development at State Farm, where she led strategic alliance initiatives. Her background includes deep expertise in accounting operations, budget and expense planning, strategic planning, and financial analytics.

In her new role, Woodbury will collaborate with Chestnut’s leadership team to advance its mission of Making a Difference: Improving Quality of Life Through Excellence in Service.

“Chestnut has a strong history of providing critical services to the communities it serves,” said Woodbury. “I am incredibly proud to join the Chestnut team, leading financial strategy and operations in alignment with the goals and mission of the organization.”
