Prenzler, former Madison County Board chair, named Phyllis Schlafly Eagles ED

Phyllis Schlafly Eagles recently announced that its president, Edward R. Martin, Jr., had resigned on Jan. 19, 2025, to accept an appointment by President Donald Trump as Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
The organization further announced the addition of Kurt Prenzler, former Madison County Illinois Board chairman, to its management team as executive director.
“We are thrilled for Ed,” said John Schlafly of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles. “Since succeeding my mother, Phyllis Schlafly, as president in 2015, he has been a dedicated leader of our organization. We have no doubt that he will serve with distinction in his new role.”
“We are pleased to welcome Kurt to our team,” Schlafly added. “His background in business, law, and politics will add depth to our organization.”
Prenzler brings extensive experience in both business and government, having served 14 years in elected office in Madison County, Illinois—six years as county treasurer and eight as county board chairman. A certified public accountant, Prenzler holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law.
