Edwardsville Realtor Tara Riggs earns national industry and local community honors

RE/MAX Alliance Realtor Tara Riggs has recently received recognition at both the national and local levels.

Riggs was named to the 2022 RealTrends ‘America’s Best Real Estate Professionals’ list and RE/MAX Torchbearer Top 40 Agents Under 40 for the second consecutive year.

The ‘America’s Best Real Estate Professionals’ nationwide ranking is based on performance in 2021. According to RealTrends, agents named to the list represent the top 1.49 percent of the more than 1.6 million licensed real estate professionals in the United States. RealTrends, a publishing and communications company that analyzes and provides information on the nation’s residential real estate industry, partnered with the educational real estate company, Tom Ferry International, to provide the list of top performing agents in every state.

The Torchbearer award honors the Top 40 agents under 40 years old in the Midwest region of RE/MAX by transactions in 2021. The Midwest region covers top-producing agents from Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Texas.

She also recently won ‘Best of Edwardsville’ in the Real Estate Agent category, hosted by Big Z Media. The annual contest calculates votes submitted from the community to determine the winner of each category.

“I’m very honored to be the recipient of these awards,” Riggs stated. “To be recognized on a national level is pretty amazing and something I never imagined! Although Best of Edwardsville is a smaller scale, to receive votes and support from fellow members of the community is so incredibly touching!”

Riggs, an Edwardsville/Glen Carbon native and resident, has been a real estate broker in the metro-east area for more than 16 years and has sold more than $93 million of real estate in the St. Louis metro east. She provides real estate services to Edwardsville, Glen Carbon and the surrounding District 7 communities; specializing in residential buying, selling, building and investing.

Although Madison County real estate sales are down by 9.9 percent, the average home price is up by 6.2 percent from last year and Riggs will be the first to tell you that the market is still going strong, Riggs noted. “We are still seeing a lack of inventory in our area, but homes that are priced right are still selling quickly – some receiving multiple offers and over asking price. While interest rates have increased, they are still low in comparison to what they have been and buyers should take advantage before they go up more.”
