APRN joins medical staff at Highland group

HSHS Medical Group has welcomed Kelsie Ferrell, APRN, to its medical team in Highland. Specializing in family medicine, she is now scheduling patients at HSHS Medical Group Family & Internal Medicine – Highland (12860 Troxler Ave., Suite 320, Highland).

As a primary care provider, Ferrell cares for patients of all ages and offers a variety of services, including minor procedures, general wellness care, well-child exams, women’s health care and acute and chronic illness management. As an advanced practice registered nurse, she is capable of diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, as well as medication management.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Illinois. She received her Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner Specialty Track) from Chamberlain University in Chicago. Ferrell is a board-certified family nurse practitioner.

“I chose a career in family medicine because I enjoy having the opportunity to help patients for many diverse issues,” she said. “I find the patient to be a pivotal part of the health-care team.”
