$21 million U.S. army contract for Columbia engineering firm

U.S. Rep. Mike Bost. R-Murphysboro, announced this week that Prairie Engineers based in Columbia, Ill., has received a $21 million contract from the U.S. Army.

Prairie Engineers will perform hydrographic and topographic surveys over the next five years.

“I am pleased to announce this U.S. Army contract today,” said Bost. “Not only will it allow Prairie Engineers to provide support to the U.S. Army, but it will help sustain jobs for workers in the Metro East.”

Established in 2010, Prairie Engineers is an engineering and land surveying consulting firm. It provides planning and design services focused on water and natural resources projects. Its team of engineers, surveyors, and scientists has done work for governmental agencies and select private clients throughout the Midwest, with extensive capabilities and experience in civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, transportation, water resources, ecology and environmental science, surveying and geospatial, land acquisition and construction engineering.
