Rotary Club of O’Fallon donates to childhood foundation

At a recent meeting, President Rich Lunan presented club member and O’Fallon District 90 Superintendent Carrie Hruby with a $2,700 donation to the O’Fallon Early Childhood Development Foundation Inc.

The foundation is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide needy 3- and 4-year-old children who are residents of O’Fallon School District 90 the opportunity to attend pre-school by granting scholarships. Foundation scholarships allow needy families to send their children to the O’Fallon CCSD 90 Preschool program before they enter kindergarten. The Rotary Club of O’Fallon is supporting the foundation as the District 6510 grant project for this year. Club members will also donate numerous hours of their time reading to students.

The O’Fallon Rotary Club was chartered on 19 May 1925 with 15 members.  Today, the O’Fallon Rotary Club has 70-plus members and has sponsored the formation of Rotary Clubs in Lebanon, Waterloo, Columbia, Fairview Heights, and two other clubs in O’Fallon — the Sunrise and St. Clair County Sunset which grew from Sunrise.
