Helmkamp Construction hires three longtime interns as assistant project managers
Matt Sockoch, Brad Verdun and Cole Hagen have joined Helmkamp Construction Co. as full-time assistant project managers. Each of them are a recent product of the School of Engineering Program at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and held extensive internship positions at Helmkamp while obtaining their bachelor’s degrees for Construction Management.
Growing the company from within is a process that Helmkamp President Rob Johnes says he knows all too well. Johnes held an internship with the company while pursuing his construction engineering degree at SIUE. Upon his graduation in 1997, he too accepted a full-time position at Helmkamp as project manager and has grown his career through the company ever since.
“Investing time and training into good people is important to us. Sometimes you have the advantage of mentoring a talented individual as they learn the industry by your standards. We look forward to Matt, Brad and Cole successfully leading projects for us for a very long time. Each one of them are great guys who do quality work.”
