Glen Carbon Village Administrator Jamie Bowden to retire

Jamie Bowden
The Village of Glen Carbon has announced the upcoming retirement of Village Administrator Jamie Bowden, who will conclude his nearly 15 years of service to the community following a planned transition period.
Bowden, who will reach his 15-year employment anniversary with the village in October, has announced his intent to retire from his role as village administrator.
His retirement marks the conclusion of a career dedicated to public service and supporting the continued growth and success of Glen Carbon.
To ensure a smooth transition, the village plans to engage an executive search firm to assist in identifying and selecting the next village administrator.
Bowden will remain with the village during the transition period as needed to support the incoming administrator. The goal is for his employment with the village to conclude no later than Feb. 12, 2027.
“Jamie has played an important role in helping guide Glen Carbon through years of growth, change, and progress,” said Mayor Bob Marcus. “His commitment to the Village and his knowledge of municipal operations have been a valuable asset. We appreciate his willingness to help ensure a successful transition and wish him all the best as he begins this next chapter.”
The Village of Glen Carbon also extended its sincere appreciation to Bowden for his nearly 15 years of dedicated service to Glen Carbon and noted that it looks forward to recognizing his many contributions throughout the transition period.
