Memorial Hospital East acquires Cancer Treatment Center in Swansea

Metro East Services Inc., doing business as Memorial Hospital East, has reached an agreement with HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital to purchase its 50 percent interest in The Cancer Treatment Center, 4000 N. Illinois St. in Swansea.

The sale was finalized on Thursday, Nov. 30.

Memorial Hospital East and Southwest Illinois Health Venture, Inc. (SIHVI) will operate the radiation oncology and PET Imaging Services while Illinois Oncology, who leases space in the building, remains as the medical oncology/hematology service provider at this location. SIHVI and HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital will continue to jointly manage the real estate.

Memorial Hospital East and SIHVI took over operations at The Cancer Treatment Center, which includes the PET/CT Imaging Center, on Friday, Dec. 1.
