EDWARDSVILLE – Sponsors are being sought for the third annual Edwardsville Township Touch-A-Truck event, a free community event that gives area families and kids the opportunity to explore and learn about vehicles they may or may not see every day.
Last year, the event hosted more than 30 vehicles — fire trucks, farm equipment an emergency helicopter among them — and welcomed more than 6,000 visitors.
The next event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Edwardsville Township Community Park, 6368 Center Grove Road in Edwardsville.
This year, activities will include a make-your-own-car craft and a construction dig site.
A variety of food trucks will supply cuisine of all sorts. In order to cover costs, Edwardsville Township is offering five different sponsorship levels ranging from $50 to $1,000. Sponsorship material must be returned by Aug. 19.
The deadline for vehicle participation registration is Sept. 1.
Volunteers are also needed. For more information, contact Chelsea Nollau at the Edwardsville Township office at (618) 656-0292.
The office is located at 300 West Park St. in Edwardsville.
