SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Micah R. Bartlett, president and CEO of Town and Country Financial Corp. and Town and Country Bank, was recently inducted as chairman for the Illinois Bankers Association.
Bartlett will serve as the 125th IBA chairman for the 2016 fiscal year.
Bartlett will chair the IBA board as it continues to execute its strategic plan, improve the banking and business climate in Illinois for the benefit of all communities, and provide innovative solutions to its member banks.
“I am truly honored to be elected the 125th Chairman of this very positive and effective association. IBA member banks are among the most innovative in the industry, and I look forward to helping further advance the IBA and its members,” he said.
Linda Koch, president and CEO of the IBA, commented, “The IBA is gratified to elect yet another respected and forward-thinking Illinois banking executive to serve as its chair. Micah brings a unique combination of banking experience, a true love of banking, and a focus that will better the Illinois banking industry.”
The Illinois Bankers Association is a trade association dedicated to creating a positive business climate that benefits the banking industry and the communities it serves. Founded in 1891, the IBA brings together state and national banks, savings banks, and savings and loan associations of all sizes in Illinois. Collectively, the IBA represents nearly 90 percent of the assets of the Illinois banking industry, which employs more than 100,000 men and women in over 5,000 offices across the state.
Town and Country has been building a presence in Metro East. Since last fall, the bank announced both a merger agreement with Premier Bank of Jacksonville — parent of The EDGEBank in Edwardsville — and the purchase of the Centrue Bank location in Fairview Heights.
