Edwardsville’s newly appointed city administrator takes the helm
The new city administrator of Edwardsville formally introduced himself today and said he is ready to get to work.
Kevin Head was named this month to replace Tim Harr, who retired after 22 years in city government. Head recently retired as a colonel from Scott Air Force Base after having served in several locations and commanded numerous organizations within the Air Force.
“It is not often an opportunity comes along to help lead a city as extraordinary as Edwardsville. Now, after a week on the job, I am excited to introduce myself as the new city administrator. My wife Beth Ann and I have three adult children who all live in the greater St. Louis area. My family and I have had the distinct honor of serving our nation for the past 28 years in the United States Air Force.”
Head posted a letter of introduction on the city’s website on Monday. The administrator is in charge of day-to-day city operations.
“I have heard many great things about the outstanding city of Edwardsville and my wife and are excited to be a part of this community. My goal is simple, to “Make a Difference.” Our community is safe and we enjoy a high quality of life with exceptional schools, quality residential choices, and a vibrant business environment. My vision aligns with Mayor (Hal) Patton’s in which we work to find smart ways to grow while supporting the local businesses and institutions which give our community character. Our goals are to preserve the foundations and improve the quality of life for the residents of Edwardsville, protecting our property values, creating a dynamic business climate, while keeping taxes low.”
His letter continued: “It is my honor privilege to serve this incredible city and the terrific residents and businesses of Edwardsville. I would like to thank the Mayor and City Council for entrusting me with this position. I am 100 percent committed to excellence, ensuring the city provides highly effective, efficient, and quality services to our entire community. I look forward to working together with everyone and meeting the people of this great city.”
