Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation awarded $100K Boeing grant to expand programming

The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation recently announced that it has received a $100,000 grant from Boeing to support the expansion of its signature Jackie Joyner-Kersee Winning in Life® program, an evidence-based initiative designed to equip youth with the skills, mindset, and support needed to succeed in school, career, and life.

Founded by Olympic legend Jackie Joyner-Kersee, the Foundation has long been a pillar of hope and opportunity in East St. Louis and beyond. This investment from Boeing will allow the organization to scale its impact, bringing the JJK Winning in Life® curriculum to more schools, community organizations, and youth-serving institutions across the country.

“This grant represents more than funding—it represents belief in our youth,” said Jackie Joyner-Kersee, founder and CEO of the Foundation. “Through JJK Winning in Life, we are teaching young people how to dream big, stay disciplined, and overcome obstacles. With Boeing’s support, we can continue to support our pillars of academics, athletics and nutrition.

The JJK Winning in Life® program is rooted in 14 core principles inspired by Joyner-Kersee’s autobiography, A Kind of Grace. The program integrates social-emotional learning, goal setting, leadership development, and workforce readiness skills to help youth build confidence, resilience, and a pathway to success.

With Boeing’s support, the Foundation will:

  • Expand the program
  • Increase access to curriculum materials and certified training for educators and mentors
  • Strengthen partnerships with schools and community organizations
  • Enhance digital learning tools to reach youth in underserved communities
