‘Partnership for Regional Alignment:’ East-West Gateway seeks consultant assistance proposals
East-West Gateway is requesting proposals from consultants to facilitate the development of a Partnership for Regional Alignment, a pending initiative in partnership with Greater St. Louis Inc. to begin later this year, aimed at uniting civic leaders across sectors around a shared vision and collective action plan for a growing and thriving St. Louis region.
The effort stems from a June 2025 EWG Board of Directors workshop in which regional leaders agreed the St. Louis area needed better coordination across sectors to align expertise and address issues of regional significance. EWG’s Board, which includes the top officials from eight counties within the St. Louis region, directed the agency to move forward with the work.
The project is expected to take about 18 months and will involve significant collaboration and engagement across multiple leadership groups, including business, economic development, job development, government, arts and culture, civic, education, philanthropic, and others.
Recently, in an interview with St. Louis Public Radio, EWG Executive Director Jim Wild emphasized the need for this partnership: “In the 60 years that East-West Gateway has been around, we can’t find where there’s been any single effort to create a vision for what the St. Louis region should be. That’s kind of the first step in this effort.”
The selected consultants will convene cross sector collaboration and engagement and help facilitate development of a defined common regional vision, identify priority issues and specific goals and strategies, and help outline a lasting framework to institutionalize the partnership’s ongoing work.
The project is anticipated to begin this summer with a final report targeted for completion in 2027.
Proposals are due no later than 1 p.m. on April 14.
A mandatory pre-submittal meeting is scheduled for April 6 at 2 p.m.
