From IDOT: Lane closures announced for Clinton, St. Clair counties
The Illinois Department of Transportation recently announced lane closures on Old U.S. 50 from east of Pipeline Road to 13th Street in Clinton County, weather permitting, starting at 7 a.m. Monday, March 9. Flaggers will maintain two-way traffic. The lane closures are necessary for resurfacing and ADA improvements and are expected to be completed by late July.
IDOT has further announced that road repairs on Illinois 203 between Collinsville Road and the Madison County line in St. Clair County will require daily lane closures, also beginning, weather permitting, Monday, March 9. The closures will affect both northbound and southbound lanes. The project is expected to be completed by early summer.
Additional lane closures have also been announced on eastbound Interstate 70 between Packers Avenue and the eastbound I-70/northbound I-55 merge beginning, weather permitting, Monday, March 9, for bridge maintenance. The project is anticipated to be completed this summer.
Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
