UPDATED: St. Louis Regional Airport to host ‘Pilots’ N Paws’ flyway event

UPDATED: Feb. 26, 2026

Due to poor weather conditions forecasted for Sunday, the previously shared Pilots N Paws flyway event planned at St. Louis Regional Airport will be occurring on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Over 40 aircraft are currently expected to arrive to St. Louis Regional Airport as early as Friday, Feb. 27 to participate. After spending the night, pilots will return to the airport on Saturday, Feb. 28 around 12 Noon and be in place for the dogs to start arriving by 1 p.m.

Once dogs start loading, they will depart on their way to Minnesota.

St. Louis Regional Airport will partner with Pilots N Paws to host an upcoming flyway event transporting more than 120 shelter dogs from the St. Louis area to Minnesota, where they will have the opportunity to be adopted into loving homes.

The flyway will be made possible by nearly 50 volunteer pilots from the St. Louis region, Minnesota, and surrounding areas.

Using single- and twin-engine general aviation aircraft, the pilots will safely transport the dogs to their destination at Airlake Airport in Lakeville, Minn.

Departures are scheduled for Sunday, March 1, 2026 from St. Louis Regional Airport in East Alton, Ill.

Pilots N Paws is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization comprised of volunteer pilots, aircraft owners, and animal advocates dedicated to the rescue, sheltering, and adoption of animals by providing air transportation services.
