Applications now being accepted for Madison County’s Alma Irene Aitch Scholarship
Madison County Regional Superintendent Dr. Robert W. Werden, along with Mr. Mannie Jackson and Dr. Ed Hightower, recently announced that applications are now being accepted for the second annual Alma Irene Aitch Scholarship.
The scholarship is available to all Madison County, Ill., high school seniors who are graduating this academic year and continuing on to college or trade school.
This scholarship award is given in the amount of $1,000 to 10 graduating seniors from across Madison County who displayed high academic achievement, personal drive, success, and excellence in their four-year high school journey. It further encourages recipients to pursue personal growth through education and to exceed expectations in contributing to their community.
This scholarship is offered in cooperation with Dr. Robert Werden, Dr. Ed Hightower, and the Madison County Regional Office of Education (ROE #41). It is funded through a monetary contribution by Mr. Mannie Jackson, an Edwardsville High graduate and Basketball Hall of Fame member.
Applications due to ROE #41 by Feb. 28, 2026. Please read all applications instructions carefully. Final selections will be made by March 28, 2026.
