New ownership at Fairmount Park Casino & Racing continues adding unique events

Fairmount Park hosting Holiday Pop-Up Bar at Longshots Restaurant 

Fairmount Park Casino & Racing in Collinsville continues to expand its offerings under its new ownership group. For the first time ever, Fairmount Park is hosting a Holiday Pop-Up Bar this Christmas season every Monday and Thursday between 4 and 6 p.m.

The bar will be hosted at Fairmount Park’s premier restaurant, Longshots, furthering holiday entertainment options for those in the Metro East.

Scott Weiner, co-founder of The Fifty/50 group based in Chicago, opened Longshots at Fairmount Park with the intention to do more with the restaurant than just everyday service.

“Longshots and all our dining offerings are all about creating a fun atmosphere for people in St. Louis and the Metro East,” Weiner said. “We are hoping this Holiday Pop-Up Bar will be a great escape into a holiday wonderland, filled with good drinks and fun with friends. We always want to create an ambiance that aligns with the time of the year and events going on at the track.”

The Holiday Pop-Up features new drinks that perfectly complement the holiday spirit, including two cocktails, the Kringlerita and The Grinch. There will also be a holiday Cinnamon Toast Crunch shot. When it comes to food, the pop-up will feature house-smoked pulled pork sandwiches and elote (also called Mexican street corn) off the cob.

“In addition to the made-from-scratch food we serve every day at Longshots, our Holiday Pop-Up Bar menu has just as much detail put into it,” Longshots Executive Chef Shea Maples said. “We want our customers to truly enjoy their food while also soaking up the holiday spirit. Don’t think of this as just a social media opportunity, but also somewhere to have exceptional food and a great time.”

Holiday Pop-Up attendees will be greeted with $5 drink specials and 20 percent off select food. There will also be a photo-op wall outside Longshots with a Christmas theme.
