Fairmount Park celebrates final day of 100th racing season on Oct. 28

First post time moved to 1 p.m.

Fairmount Park Casino & Racing is celebrating the final race day of its centennial season by moving its first post to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28.

After seven months of racing in 2025, Fairmount Park will cap the season with a final day filled to the brim with activities and thrilling competition on the track.

Fairmount Park is moving the first race of the day up to 1 p.m. from 2:30 p.m. to start the celebration early and allow fans to enjoy a full afternoon of fun before racing takes a hiatus for the winter.

Since opening in 1925, Fairmount Park has wowed spectators with exceptional talent on the track and a bustling atmosphere.

“Our fans have made our 100th year a huge success throughout the season,” Fairmount Park General Manager Vince Gabbert said. “This is the last chance for our great fans to watch world-class athletes up close and personal before next spring. While racing season officially ends Oct. 28, Fairmount Park will continue to remain open throughout the year.

Fans can visit the casino anytime during the winter and also get a taste of the delicious food at Longshots, the premier restaurant at Fairmount Park, throughout the chilly season.

“That’s one of the really special things about Fairmount Park is that even after our racing season ends, there’s still a lot happening here,” Gabbert said. “This year, we’re planning some unique new events like our holiday pop-up bar and some live concerts in addition to gaming year-round at the casino. So there will still be lots of new things for people to come and enjoy.”
