NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals 2025 weekend schedule at WWTR released
Officials from World Wide Technology Raceway and the National Hot Rod Association have released the official run schedule for the 14th Annual NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals.
The event, scheduled for Sept. 26-28, is a crucial part of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and the third race for NHRA’s Countdown for the Championship Playoffs.
The event features four rounds of qualifying and eliminations for the professional categories of Top Fuel Dragster, Nitro Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle. In addition to six sportsman categories, the race includes competition for special categories Pro Mod, Mountain Motor Pro Stock, Factory X and Factory Stock Showdown.
“This is definitely an all-star line-up of drag racing that fans of high-horsepower action will love,” said Chris Blair, WWT Raceway’s executive vice president and general manager. “The categories that are featured in this year’s NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals, combined with the excellent late September weather, should see both track and national record setting conditions.”
To maximize the opportunity to set national speed and elapsed time records, the event was scheduled so that Friday would feature two evening sessions under the lights. The first nitro runs of the weekend get underway with Funny Car and Top Fuel slated at 6 p.m. with an immediate turn around for a second session at 8 p.m.
“Our fans have been asking for true evening sessions for some time on Friday,” continued Blair. “Our fan surveys supported this decision to give fans the chance to head home after work, grab the family and head to the track for two doses of header-flames and 340 mile per hour runs.”
Saturday, Sept. 27 gives fans two additional qualifying sessions with Top Fuel and Funny Car scheduled for 12:15 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday’s championship eliminations, which includes four rounds for the professional categories, will begin at 11 a.m. Eliminations will continue in the run order of Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle until the event champion is crowned at approximately 4 p.m.
Spectator gates open each day at 8 a.m. with facility parking areas opening at 7 a.m. The run schedule for the weekend is subject to change.
