1929 Pizza and Wine expands to Edwardsville, pending launch of Patisserie 29′

Wood River restauranteurs Amy and Matt Herren have announced the expansion of 1929 Pizza and Wine upcoming launch of Patisserie 29’ in Edwardsville, marking a “triumphant return to the local culinary scene,” as noted in their official statement.

This venture follows the departure of 222 Artisan Bakery, an establishment Matt Herren founded two decades ago on Main Street.

“We are thrilled to be back in Edwardsville and look forward to bringing our passion for artisanal baking to the community once again,” said Amy Herren, co-founder of Patisserie 29’. The Herrens aim to open Patisserie 29’ in the former Reine space before fall, offering residents and visitors a new hub for exceptional baked goods and a warm community atmosphere.

While preparations are underway, patrons are encouraged to visit 1929 Pizza and Wine in Wood River (7 N. Wood River Ave.), where the Herrens showcase their dedication to quality through 100% naturally leavened farm-to-table wood-fired pizzas.
