Ameren Illinois showcases ‘blue-sky’ day work completed in Collinsville

Ameren Illinois is playing a role in the City of Collinsville’s Great Street Initiative to revitalize an economic corridor through town from Main Street to the Cahokia Mounds Interpretive Center on Ramey Road. In the two accompanying photos, crews are working at the corner of Maple Street and St. Louis Road.

As part of the revitalization plan, the utility is relocating power poles and storm hardening the electric grid to withstand increasing occurrences of severe weather. These projects enhance the resiliency and reliability of the grid, reducing outages, speeding restoration times, and saving customers money.
