Burger King brings crispy tacos back for February; Granite City led 2019 national sales
Burger King reintroduces Crispy Tacos to the St. Louis market, select Illinois locations for February
Metro east locations boasted 5 of the Top 30 selling restaurants in the nation when the tacos were introduced in 2019: Granite City at #1, with Bethalto, Wood River, and Alton locations also on the list.

St. Louisans ate so many Burger King tacos when they were introduced to the menu back in 2019 that 10 area locations ranked in the Top 30 nationwide for taco sales.
Granite City was the top-selling location in the nation with more than 1100 daily sales. Other Metro East restaurants also ranked on the list from Bethalto, Wood River and Alton.
After several years off the menu, 52 regional Burger King restaurants are reintroducing the tacos for a limited time starting February 1. The $1 taco features a crunchy, corn tortilla filled with seasoned beef, shredded cheddar cheese and lettuce, and is topped with Burger King’s savory taco sauce. The snack-size tacos will be on the menu until they sell out, which likely will be in a few weeks at many locations based on past popularity.
The Crispy Taco was originally added to the Burger King menu in 2005 to 2006 before being reintroduced nationally in 2019. Today Crispy Tacos are available at select locations at the preference of franchisees. Starting February 1, the tacos will be offered at Burger King locations throughout St. Louis City, St. Louis County, the Metro East, in Southern Illinois and across Missouri, which are operated by Maryland Heights-based franchisee, Broadway Restaurant Group.
The top ranking locations in the nation for Burger King taco sales in 2019 were:

St. Louis has been known as a successful Burger King market for years. Broadway Restaurant Group is one of a select group of United States franchisees that consults with corporate and test market concepts, including the meatless Impossible WHOPPER®, which is a huge national success after being test-launched in St. Louis in 2019. The franchisee also was one of the first in the world to debut a new restaurant design in 2021 at its Sunset Hills location.
“At a time when inflation has driven up food prices at grocery stores and restaurants, our customers appreciate a tasty low-cost snack or meal option,” said Henry Delouvrier, co-founder and managing partner of Broadway Restaurant Group.
Broadway Restaurant Group is hiring crew and management positions at many locations. Interested applicants can apply in person or at www.b-restaurants.com/careers.
“We strive to hire and promote right from the surrounding communities, giving residents a livelihood and path to career growth. In fact, ninety percent of Broadway Restaurant Group managers have been promoted from within,” said Delouvrier. Broadway Restaurant Group awards $1,000 college scholarships each year to employees or community members in the surrounding community for each location. Approximately $50,000 to $70,000 is awarded each year.
