Hop House Southern Eatery in O’Fallon has announced it will close for at least a couple of months because of worker shortages and the owner’s health.
The restaurant at 1214 Central Park Drive posted a note this week on Facebook explaining the situation.
Due to worker shortages and owner Steve Edwards’ health, the restaurant will temporarily close as of Jan. 1.
“We hope to be able to reopen after Steve’s hip replacement surgery in March,” said the posting, dated Dec. 28.
The restaurant thanked patrons and promised them refunds on gift cards if necessary.
“We would like thank all of our loyal customers and dedicated employees for helping us to be so successful over that last five years,” the posting continued. “We will be trying to relocate any of our workers that would like to continue with us to one of our other restaurants. If any customers who purchased gift cards would like to use them before we close you will have until January 1st to do so, or you can hold them until we reopen, if neither of these options are viable for you we will have a few days in January when you can bring them in and we will buy them back from you.”
