New website launched to fill area’s cybersecurity jobs

The Midwest Cyber Center has launched what it calls a first-of-its-kind website to offer a single place where companies and candidates can post and apply for the growing number of cybersecurity jobs in and around Southwestern Illinois.

midwestcybercenterloogAn estimated 209,000 cybersecurity jobs in the U.S. will go unfilled this year, and it is predicted there will be over 1 million jobs available by the year 2020. According to www.cyberseek.org, there are currently 3,597 openings specific to the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.

The new website is www.cyberjobstl.com.

The Midwest Cyber Center, or MC², is offering a free trial period and access to the website until Aug. 1. Companies and candidates are encouraged to create a profile and begin matching opportunities to take advantage.

The Midwest Cyber Center’s mission is to advocate for the St. Louis region’s cyber ecosystem by leading workforce development, youth education, and information sharing initiatives. It has offices near Scott AFB in Illinois and in St. Louis. MC² was founded in 2015 after regional leaders identified a lack of qualified workforce to meet the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals.
