Employees of Scheffel Boyle CPAs recently teamed up to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois at their annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake. Employees raised a total of $5,000 to be donated directly to the agency.
Scheffel Boyle’s two bowling teams, the “Tax Manian Devils” and the “Ten-Key Strikers,” participated in the event on May 10 at Edison’s Entertainment Complex in Edwardsville. Each of the firm’s 10 bowlers had their own fund-raising efforts involving social media activity and networking to come up with every dollar they could for the event.
Scott Weber is a principal at Scheffel Boyle’s Edwardsville office and serves on the board of BBBS.
“I’m continually impressed by what our employees can do when they set their mind to it,” Weber said. “They always try and top the donations from the year before and they have yet to fail. We are proud to support BBBS and contribute to their mission in our local community.”
BBBS’ mission for more than 100 years has been to “nurture children and strengthen communities.” For information on how to donate or participate in a BBBS of Southwestern Illinois event, visit www.bbbsil.org.
