WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Mike Bost, R-Murphysboro, joined his Illinois colleagues this week in authoring a letter to National Geospatial Intelligence Agency Director Robert Cardillo to formally request a 30-day public comment period on the location of the Next West NGA Campus.

“We are requesting that Director Cardillo extend the public comment period from 15 to 30 days to provide everyone an adequate opportunity to digest and respond to NGA’s findings,” Bost said Wednesday. “An adequate comment period is absolutely necessary to present the evidence demonstrating that the St. Clair County site remains the superior location for the NGA West facility. It’s the least we should expect for a decision of this magnitude.”

Bost and other members of the Illinois delegation have been working closely with local stakeholders on relocating the NGA West from its current location in St. Louis to a site adjacent to Scott Air Force Base. In addition to Rep. Bost, the letter is signed by Sens. Dick Durbin, D-Illinois, and Mark Kirk, R-Ill., Reps. John Shimkus, R-Collinsville, and Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville.
