COLLINSVILLE – The Illinois Department of Transportation says Illinois Route 159 will be reduced to one lane of traffic from Johnson Street to Wickliffe Street in Collinsville from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, Aug. 14, weather permitting, to place new asphalt surface on 159.
The section is about 0.2 of a mile leading north from the downtown area.
One-way traffic will be maintained using flaggers and traffic control devices. Delays are expected. The department urged that motorists be patient, reduce speed and use caution when traveling throughout the work zone.
The contractor on this project is Baxmeyer Construction, Inc. of Waterloo. Barry Gibbs is the supervising field engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation. Questions may be directed to him at (618) 346-3351.
