New leader to take assume reins of Scott’s Air Mobility Command

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE – Air Mobility Command will change leaders Tuesday, Aug. 11, as Gen. Carlton D. Everhart II assumes command from Gen. Darren W. McDew during a 10 a.m. ceremony at Scott Air Force Base.

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Welsh III will preside at the ceremony. AMC, headquartered at Scott AFB, is an Air Force major command that provides worldwide cargo and passenger delivery, air refueling and aeromedical evacuation.

The change of command ceremony is not open to the general public.
