Sivia law firm joins ranks of Million Dollar Advocates Forum

EDWARDSVILLE – Sivia Business & Legal Services, P.C. has become a member in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. The firm, along with co-counsel, recently settled a personal injury case against McDonald’s for $1 million. SBLS represented a woman who was injured at an area restaurant.

According to Sivia, personal injury cases are likely to increase due to potential revisions to Medicaid legislation.

“Unless the provision is reversed, all personal injury settlements will first be subject to Medicaid payback—even financial damages awarded for emotional stress—beginning in October 2016,” says Sivia. “For those individuals needing these settlements for lifetime care, it is critical to get these cases settled prior to implementation of this legislation.”

The Million Dollar Advocates Forum is recognized as one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts, awards and settlements. The organization was founded in 1993 and there are approximately 3000 members located throughout the country.

Sivia Business & Legal Services, P.C. is an asset protection law firm focused on general business law, personal injury, family law, life care planning, estate planning, mediation and litigation. The law firm has offices in Edwardsville, Brighton, Carlyle and St. Louis.
