IDOT to fix state route affected by mine subsidence
The Illinois Department of Transportation says only one lane of Illinois Route 15 in St. Clair County will be open in each direction between Illinois 158 and 159 beginning at noon Saturday, Oct. 11, to complete repairs to pavement affected by mine subsidence.
A crossover will be utilized for the westbound lane to maintain traffic. The lane reductions should be completed by Saturday, Oct. 18, weather permitting.
Travelers are advised to consider alternate routes or allow additional time to travel. Speed limits will be reduced to 35 mph through the crossover.
