Restaurant week cooks up attractions in Alton, Godfrey, Grafton
Look no further than Alton, Godfrey and Grafton for your local All Stars this summer. Fifteen local, family-owned restaurants will be participating in the second annual All Star Restaurant Week July 11 – 20.
Starting Friday, July 11, 15 eateries in Alton, Godfrey and Grafton will come together to represent All-Star teams of restaurants. Diners will be able to enjoy baseball-themed menu items all week long by visiting one of the 15 team members. Menus for participating restaurants and details on the event can be found at AllStarRestaurants.net.
The local All-Star teams include: Castelli’s Restaurant at 255, Holiday Inn/Franco’s Restaurant, Grafton Winery & Brewhaus, My Just Desserts, Rib City, State Street Market, Tony’s Restaurant, Pere Marquette Lodge, Amarillo Tex’s Steakhouse, Carvers Southern Style BBQ, Jimmy the Greeks, Outfitters Grill, Aeries Riverview Winery, Bluff City Grill and Johnsons Corner.
“MLB’s All-Star week is a great time for people to get out and enjoy some of the great dishes that our All-Star restaurants offer,” Jong Cambron, public relations director of the Alton Regional CVB, stated. “Play ball by trying All-Star dishes featured at all of our fine, locally owned restaurants.”
All-Star Restaurant Week presents a chance for locals throughout the region to try a new restaurant or visit one of their favorites to show their support. Anyone 21 and older who brings in a receipt dated July 11 – 20 from one of the 15 participating restaurants to the Alton Visitor Center at 200 Piasa St. in Alton will receive a free promotional Budweiser beer glass. This offer is valid only for the first 200 people.
The event has been made possible with the help of the following sponsors: Alton Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau, Donnewald Distributing Co., Argosy Casino Alton, Liberty Bank, Saint Anthony’s Health Center, Alton Memorial Hospital and Lewis and Clark Community College.

The convention bureau is also offer two-hour guided shuttle tours to the local barbecue restaurants along the Meeting of the Great Rivers National Scenic Byway.
Visitors can enjoy barbecue from local restaurants including Carver’s Southern-Style BBQ in Godfrey, Rib City in Alton and Amarillo Tex’s Steakhouse in Alton. The shuttle tour is being held two more times, July 26 and Aug. 30, from 1 to 3 p.m. each day. Cost is $35 per person.
