SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Senate’s Subcommittee on Community Youth Employment will hold a series of statewide hearings, beginning April 15, in East St. Louis.
State Sen. Mattie Hunter, D-Chicago, and other elected officials will join state agencies to discuss proposed legislation.
The hearings are intended to bring conversation to the communities in the most need. Students and agencies will provide testimonies about the Summer Youth Employment Program and the need to create year-long opportunities for students.
The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House, 1045 State St., East St. Louis.
