O’Fallon announces upcoming roundabout work schedule, local commute impact

The City of O’Fallon, Ill., Public Works Department has announced the closure of its State Street and Obernuefemann Road Roundabout from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

A closure of the Porter Road and Simmons Road Roundabout is further scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday July 23, 2026, for asphalt surfacing operations.

Drivers are recommended to find other routes around the closures.

Additional delays were announced to be anticipated on July 20 and 21 as the mainline resurfacing will be installed on State Street from the CSX railroad crossing at Douglas west to Talon and on Obernuefemann Road from the CSX crossing north near the intersection with Carriageway Lane.

Delays and additional closures will further occur throughout the project until the expected completion date of Aug. 4, 2026.
