Mathis, Marifian & Richter Ltd. (MM&R), a trusted law firm serving clients throughout southern Illinois and the St. Louis metropolitan area, recently announced that Chad Burchard has joined the firm as an associate attorney.
At MM&R, Burchard focuses his practice on commercial real estate transactions and business law. He advises clients through a variety of real estate matters, drawing on more than a decade of legal experience across multiple industries and jurisdictions.
Before joining MM&R in 2026, Burchard worked as an associate attorney in Evansville, Ind., focusing on coal, oil and gas law. He also has experience in real estate and transactional work. Earlier, Burchard practiced real estate law at a national law firm based in St. Louis, handling a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions.
Throughout his career, Burchard has developed extensive experience advising businesses, developers, lenders and property owners on complex commercial real estate transactions. His background in real estate, energy and business law provides clients with practical guidance tailored to their unique legal and business objectives.

Burchard earned his juris doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2010 after receiving his bachelor of arts from Vanderbilt University in 2006. He is licensed to practice law in Missouri, Indiana and Kentucky.
In addition to his legal practice, Burchard has contributed to the legal profession through published scholarship. His article was featured in the September 2025 edition of LexisNexis’ Pratt’s Energy Law Report, where he examined legal issues impacting the energy industry. His publication reflects his commitment to staying at the forefront of emerging legal developments and providing informed counsel to his clients.
