Edwardsville nonprofit theatrical production company to host first fundraising event
Lights, Camera, Cocktails: Alumni Players! launches effort to celebrate five years of community partnerships
Alumni Players! is hosting their first fundraising event Lights, Camera, Cocktails on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, on the third floor of the historic Wildey Theatre in downtown Edwardsville.
The evening will celebrate the Alumni Players! legacy of partnering with other local nonprofit organizations and civic groups to produce events to maximize those organizations’ community profile and fundraising potential, while furthering AP!’s mission of “Building Community Through Creativity.”
Cocktail hour begins at 5 p.m. Guests will enjoy signature cocktails, a charcuterie buffet, from local caterer Boards by Babs, a TY! Swag Bag from Alumni Players! and an evening filled with music.
Dr. Richard Coy will lead a jazz combo throughout the event along with one-of-a-kind entertainment from a few veteran Alumni Players and a few special guests from the Edwardsville High School Drama Club.
“It is very exciting for us to invite our community partners and supporters to join us to look back over the past five years and celebrate all the successes we have achieved together,” said Alumni Players! President and Creative Producer Craig Becker. “Our community is filled with creative, caring and generous individuals who give their time and not inconsiderable talents to breathe life into every aspect of every production and performance that we create. It is through this collective effort that we can raise money to support a community project or organization. Looking forward, our goal remains the same: to share the history and honor the legacies of Edwardsville through story and song as we strengthen the fabric of our community. The best part is that there are still so many stories to tell and songs to share.”
