Gateway Regional Medical Center names Michelle Waller as new interim CEO

Gateway Regional Medical Center recently announced the appointment of Michelle Waller as interim CEO.

The official announcement recently received noted that Waller, “a resolute professional with a remarkable career trajectory within the hospital, has continuously demonstrated her unwavering commitment to patient care and community service.”

The announcement further detailed:

“Starting her journey at Gateway Regional in 2013 as an Emergency Department nursing student, Waller quickly distinguished herself as a compassionate and skilled Emergency nurse. Her dedication to excellence led her to take on the role of Urgent Care director, where she implemented innovative practices to enhance patient care. Following that, she served as the director of ED/ICU/Dialysis, overseeing critical areas of the hospital and ensuring the highest standards of clinical operations. In recognition of her leadership abilities and passion for health care, Waller was promoted to assistant chief nursing officer (ACNO) and subsequently to Chief of Clinical/Chief of Operating Officer (CCO/COO). Throughout her career, she prioritized collaboration, patient-centered care, and staff development, fostering an environment where healthcare professionals can thrive.”
