Simmons Hanly Conroy has announced the 2023 return of the SHC Foundation Golf Tournament.

The event, to benefit Assisi House, will be held June 23 at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course, 4701 College Ave., Alton, Ill.

Now in its 16th year, the tournament resumes this year after skipping the last three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event has raised more than $230,000 to benefit area organizations and charities.

Founded in 2014, Assisi House addresses homelessness in the St. Louis region by providing housing for unhoused or housing insecure individuals in small, communal settings. Assisi House operates five homes across St. Louis for 60 residents. The homes’ residents pay an affordable rent and receive accompaniment and support from the staff and volunteers to address their self-identified goals to get them ready for the next steps in the process of getting a job and place of their own.

“We are thrilled to welcome local golfers, friends and community supporters back to the SHC Foundation Golf Tournament following a three-year hiatus,” said SHC Foundations Director Tamara Jesse. “We are hopeful the turnout at the Spencer T. Olin course on June 23 will be tremendous as we regroup to help support Assisi House and the wonderful work it does to provide quality housing for unhoused individuals. The funds raised from this tournament will go towards Assisi House purchasing their first house in the Alton area.”

Entry fees for the Simmons Hanly Conroy Golf Tournament are $125 per player or $500 per team and include green fees, cart rental, lunch or dinner, and refreshments on the course, plus a gift.

Morning (8 a.m.) and afternoon (1:30 p.m.) flights are available for the tournament organized in a four-person team scramble format. Options include skins games and the purchase of mulligans. Cash prizes will be awarded to first and second place finishing teams. Teams that register and pay by June 7 will be entered into a drawing for four tickets to a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game.

Tournament or hole sponsorships are available for $2,500, $1,100, and $150, and tax-deductible donations also will be accepted.
