Argosy Casino, one of Alton's largest employers, announced the reopening of its facility after weeks of closure brought on by one of the biggest floods to ever hit the community.
The reopening was set to take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday, according to a email from the casino.
It was the second time this year that the facility was shuttered by high water. The property was previously closed on Friday, May 3, and reopened on Thursday, May 16.
The latest closure was even longer. It began on May 24 and went on for 32 days.
