Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison is hosting two job fairs to help prepare for the expanded schedule on its 2019 season
The home of NASCAR, INDYCAR and NHRA racing says many positions are available in a number of departments are available.
The first air will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. The second job fair will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. to noon. The job fairs will be held in the infield media center inside the oval track. Prospective candidates should bring a resume and identification.
Gateway is also offering an opportunity for nonprofits to work at the track as a means of raising funds for their organizations.
The track is also looking for several groups to help serve as community ambassadors for its 2019 NASCAR, NHRA and INDYCAR events. The opportunities are said to be ideal for groups that can staff 10 to 20 positions per day for eight-to-12 hour shifts. Opportunities include positions both inside and outside the venue.
Work areas include: ADA and courtesy cart shuttle drivers, ushers, ticket scanners, hospitality areas, parking sales and traffic direction, to name a few.
Gateway will make a charitable donation of $9-$15 per hour (depending on department role) for each man-hour worked by an organization.
Gateway will provide event tickets, T-shirts, a free lunch and beverages to all event workers.
Among events coming to the track this year are the inaugural Americas Rallycross scheduled for July 13-14.
Rallycross is said to be the fastest-growing form of racing in the world. Short races, viewer-friendly asphalt-and-dirt circuits with 600-horsepower production-based race cars are highlights.
