douglas kendallIn memory of SIUE student Kendall Douglas, who was injured fatally in a traffic accident, the campus chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority and the Douglas Family have begun a series of “Kendall Cares” actions to benefit SIUE students. Karen Wicks, left, SIUE Director of Development, and Paul Rose, interim dean of the School of Elementary Education, received more than 600 food items donated to the SIUE Cougar Cupboard student food pantry by Sarah and Warren Douglas, far right, during a candlelight memorial service organized by the sorority. During the celebration, attended by more than 200 people, the university announced that the first Kendall Allida Douglas Scholarship will be awarded this fall to a junior or a senior majoring in elementary education. Applications are available in the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior Office, Alumni Hall on the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville campus.
