Neurosurgery of St. Louis includes a team of eight neurosurgeons, one orthopedic surgeon and one nurse practitioner.

Castle Connolly, an independent healthcare research and information company, compiles information to help people find the best and most qualified medical practitioners in their area. With over 985,000 practicing doctors in the United States, Castle Connolly finalizes its list of approximately 66,000 board-certified US physicians through a rigorous research process and only these hand-selected few are awarded Top Doctor status each year. The list represents the top 7% of physicians in the country.

“We are so proud to see seven of our doctors at Neurosurgery of St. Louis make this list in 2024,” said NSL Managing Partner Dr. Michael Polinsky. “This truly showcases our commitment to exceptional patient care. Our patients value having a physician who listens, shows respect, and treats them fairly. Each one of our doctors are passionate about providing the best possible care to our patients across St. Louis and the Metro East and this recognition is a testament to that.”

NSL works at six hospital locations in Illinois and Missouri, as well as the new Specialty Surgery Center of St. Louis which is located in the Walker Medical Building. The physicians see patients in offices in St. Louis County, St. Charles County, and the Metro East. Its dedicated team specializes in neurological diseases and disorders including benign and malignant brain tumors, hydrocephalus, degenerative spine disease, spinal stenosis, disc herniations, neck pain, lower back pain, spinal trauma and fractures, spinal deformity and scoliosis, sciatica, movement disorders, and peripheral nerve disorders.
